Extra Benefits:
Because glycerol increases the uptake and distribution of L-carnitine - a key nutrient in the burning of fats for fuel - at the cellular level, using Liquid Endurance may help support weight loss goals.
In hot conditions, especially beyond a two-hour effort, your core temperature can increase substantially, causing profuse sweating. The ensuing fluid depletion forces your heart to work harder and slows metabolic reactions necessary for efficient fuel transport. This means decreased athletic performance and increased possibility of dehydration. Liquid Endurance's glycerol component increases blood volume and cellular/intracellular fluid storage capacity, giving you extra fluid reserves. L-carnitine and vitamin B6 complement glycerol in supporting efficient energy metabolism for fatty acids, imperative in endurance exercise. Test it in training, and then see your times drop when it counts. Don't race in hot weather without Liquid Endurance.
The Liquid Endurance Formula
Glycerol is a naturally occurring metabolite when fatty acids are used for fuel. It is a well-tolerated and rapidly absorbed nutrient. When it's added to water or drink mixes it has the ability to redistribute increased amounts of fluid within blood volume and in extra-cellular spaces. All of these contribute to sweat volume, which will result in an increase in cooling efficiency.
Chromium polynicotinate plays an essential role in energy production and the synthesis of glucose, fatty acids, and amino acids. However, this trace mineral is rapidly depleted via perspiration, urination, and extreme temperatures, which is why we've included chromium (in the highly bioavailable polynicotinate form) in Liquid Endurance.
L-Carnitine is a vitamin-like nutrient related to the B Vitamin family and is the essential nutrient for the utilization of fatty acids for fuel. Glycerol's presence and influence on extra cellular fluid stores increases the uptake and distribution of L-Carnitine at the cellular level. When glycerol levels in blood serum are low or non-existent, nearly 40% of L carnitine is removed via the urinary tract. Glycerol's presence provides a positive influence on kidney selection, increasing the uptake of this potent fatty acid carrier. L-Carnitine is a vital nutrient for enhanced endurance and the presence of glycerol in blood serum will enable more of it to be available for use.
The ability to efficiently use fats for fuel cannot be underestimated. Athletes have a limited amount of muscle glycogen available for fuel during exercise. As the length of exercise increases so to does the use of fatty acids for fuel. Being able to access those fatty acid stores will help preserve precious muscle glycogen. It will also preserve fluids as well. This is because as glycogen is burned for fuel, a substantial amount of water is released. If fatty-acid stores can be used more efficiently, then there should be a decrease in the amount of water released as well as an increase in the amount of glycerol naturally produced. All these factors will prolong endurance.
Pyrodoxine HCL, the coenzyme of Vitamin B-6 has been added to the formula as it is a key factor in the metabolism of all fuels including fatty acids. Without sufficient supplies of Vitamin B-6 the body cannot make l-Carnitine therefore it cannot access fatty acids efficiently, thus depleting the amount of glycerol produced.
