Honey Stinger Gels - Must Love Honey

The Gold and Ginsting lines are great! Will not recommend the flavored lines though. 120 calories per 1.3 oz packet, while most gels only give you 100 calories. I enjoy the taste of honey and I find that it helps to sooth my stomach on big races. Used these thru the entire Hellgate 100k in December 2010! *Note* The honey will crystalize if stored in cold temps or left unused long, easy way to fix is to throw the packets into a heat proof bowl and pour hot water over them. Let them sit for 10 minutes and all the crystals are gone!

Not my favorite

I really wanted to like the honey stinger gels, but I just don't. Honey is a great flavor, but only in small doses and gulping down a whole oz is just too much. I find that the energy is provides just isn't quite as sustained as is provided by some of my favorites (Accel gel and GU). Plus, the natural crystallization that occurs is off-putting.
I love the this is a natural product though and hope they can work on the formula a bit to improve things.
I've never tried any other of their products.
